16 months ago I ran this post about using vinegar to safely clean fruits and vegetables. It’s worth a second look:
Rinsing fruit and vegetables in vinegar should help remove unwanted pesticides
So says Howard Garrett, also known as The Dirt Doctor, who has compiled a number of uses for vinegar, including recipes for both internal use and use in your organic garden. Our good friend and raw food advocate, Dr. Joseph Mercola, passed-along some of these tips on his website a few weeks back. I saved the link:
“Just add 10% of this 10,000 year old discovery to 90% water as a bath and briefly soak your produce. Swish it around and rinse thoroughly and enjoy.”
Good to know. I only rinse my veggies under running water for 30 seconds or so before I use them. Adding a vinegar dip is one simple step that should help ease my piece of mind.
Feel good and keep smiling! Pat
