Coconut oil is relatively high in calories. But for cancer patients undergoing chemo or recovering from a stem cell transplant that need to put-on or maintain weight, adding a couple tablespoons to a smoothie or milkshake is probably a great idea! Ends-up tasting sort of like a Mounds bar.
